At times exciting, at times moving, an engrossing narrative of the end of the Civil War, the fall of Richmond, the chase for Jefferson Davis, and the exceptional Abraham Lincoln funeral train. If you know next to nothing about Davis, this will fill in some of the blanks and motivate you to think of him as an important historical figure, not a joke of a politician who, by the way, was NOT captured wearing women's clothing. Must read for the High Schooler studying the Civil War. Expecially High Schoolers in the North!
